The GNG Table Report - September 29

🎃 October Is Coming — And GnG Isn’t Slowing Down!

September was one heck of a month at Gamers N Geeks.

We had Star Wars Unlimited Planetary Qualifiers, Pokémon’s 30th Anniversary, One Piece tournaments, Magic: The Gathering Reality Fracture Prerelease Week and a whole lot more filling up our tables.

And now?

WELCOME TO SPOOKY SEASON! 🎃👻

October is here, and apparently nobody told us we were supposed to slow down.

We’ve got new releases, prereleases, premiere events, major tournaments and plenty more coming your way. As always, the easiest way to keep up with EVERYTHING happening around GnG is our calendar at GamersNGeeks.com.

But let’s start with this weekend, because there is A LOT happening.

🌌 Star Wars Unlimited: Homeworlds Prerelease

We’re heading back to a galaxy far, far away with Star Wars Unlimited: Homeworlds!

You’ve got TWO chances to experience the new set this weekend:

⭐ Friday, October 2 — 7 PM–10 PM
Sign-ups begin at 6 PM.

⭐ Saturday, October 3 — 6 PM–9 PM
Sign-ups begin at 5 PM.

Entry: $30 + tax

We’ll be playing Swiss, Best of 3, with the number of rounds determined by attendance.

And, of course, we’ve got prizes!

🎁 1 pack per player in prize support PLUS promotional materials!

New cards. New decks. New possibilities.

Let’s see what Homeworlds brings to the table!

🃏 Yu-Gi-Oh! Beyond the Brave Premiere!

Duelists, you’re getting something new this weekend too!

Beyond the Brave arrives with TWO Premiere events:

⚔️ Friday, October 2 — 7 PM–10 PM
Sign-ups begin at 6 PM.

⚔️ Sunday, October 4 — 5:30 PM–9 PM

Entry: $22.50

Everyone who enters receives 5 packs plus a Field Center Card.

This is a Sealed Event, so you’ll build a minimum 20-card deck from what you open, with your remaining cards becoming your sideboard.

And there are TWO very cool prizes waiting for somebody:

🏆 1st Place receives a special Beyond the Brave Playmat.

🎟️ One lucky player will ALSO be randomly selected to receive a Beyond the Brave Playmat!

Sometimes you win by being the best duelist in the room.

Sometimes you win because the universe likes you.

We respect both strategies. 😂

🏴☠️ One Piece: Extra Grand Battle

The Grand Line is calling again!

Saturday, October 3 — 1 PM–4 PM

Sign-ups begin at noon, and the battle starts at 1 PM.

Entry: $15

Everyone participating receives an Event Pack Vol. 9.

Make the Top 8 and you’ll also receive an Event Pack Vol. 8.

Make the Top 4 and you’ll receive Limited Promotion Sleeves featuring Ms. All Sunday.

And our Champion takes home:

🏆 Extra Grand Battle OP14-033 Perona x1

One important note: There will NOT be a serialized card for this Extra Grand Battle.

Gather your crew and get ready to battle!

🤖 Gundam TCG: ST11–ST14 Release Event

PILOTS, PREPARE FOR LAUNCH!

Saturday night brings us another Gundam event:

Saturday, October 3 — 6 PM–10 PM

Sign-ups begin at 5 PM.
Event begins at 6 PM.

Entry: $25*

Every player receives one random deck from the ST11–ST14 series to use during the event.

Players can swap up to 10 cards from their starter deck with cards they already own, provided those cards match the deck’s colors and you have no more than four copies of any one card.

🎁 Everyone receives a participation promo.

🏆 The winner receives a special promo!

*$25 entry is tentative and may change depending on the MSRP of the decks.

🌌 Reality Fracture Prerelease Week — WHAT A START!

Okay, Magic players.

YOU SHOWED UP.

We kicked off Reality Fracture Prerelease Week Friday night with 70 PLAYERS filling our tables!

And because GnG gives you more, we also brought in FREE Foosackly’s chicken tendies and fries to get everybody properly fueled for the evening. 🍗😂

Since then, we’ve crowned plenty of winners who have walked away with their very own exclusive Jace² Prerelease Playmats.

But if you missed out, DON’T PANIC.

We aren’t finished yet!

Reality Fracture Prerelease Week continues with more opportunities to play Wednesday and Thursday before we finally close out an incredible week of Magic.

More Magic. More prizes. More opportunities to play.

GnG GIVES YOU MORE. NOW FOR LESS.

🏆 Winner Wednesday

Speaking of winners…

Wednesday means it’s time to celebrate them!

Congratulations to everyone who battled their way through our Reality Fracture events, Gundam events and all the other tournaments filling our tables.

Maybe you made Top 8.

Maybe you took the whole thing.

Maybe you pulled the card you desperately wanted.

Maybe you won FREE CHICKEN TENDIES FROM FOOSACKLY’S.

Look, a win is a win. 😂

Every Wednesday, we celebrate the people making memories around our tables. Watch our social channels for Winner Wednesday and see some of the faces taking home prizes from GnG!

🏴☠️ Blood & Plunder Is Coming to GnG!

Do you like pirates?

Of course you do.

JD certainly does. If you saw the pictures from this weekend, you know the man apparently owns a pirate hat and hook specifically for occasions such as these.

And now we're bringing Blood & Plunder from Firelock Games to Gamers N Geeks!

Blood & Plunder is a 28mm historical miniatures wargame set during the 17th-century Golden Age of Piracy.

And this isn't just two groups of pirates fighting on a beach.

You can battle on land.

You can battle at sea.

Or you can combine the two, with miniature crews, terrain and some absolutely gorgeous ships turning your table into a full-blown pirate adventure.

The game features pirates, militias, European powers and Indigenous forces fighting for control of the New World, with a system designed for both new and veteran miniature gamers.

And after watching JD and the crew play this weekend, we knew we needed it at GnG.

So keep watching our social media. We'll let you know when Blood & Plunder arrives.

Then gather your crew, set sail and start hunting for treasure.

Pirate hat apparently optional.

Hook strongly encouraged.

🏆 Winner Wednesday

Last week was packed with great events — and some AMAZING pulls coming out of the Pokémon 30th Celebration!

Congratulations to everyone who fought their way into a Top 8, climbed all the way to that top spot or cracked open a pack and found something incredible staring back at them.

Tournament wins. Big pulls. Great games.

Winners play at Gamers N Geeks!

And we can't wait to see who we're congratulating next Wednesday.

💙 WHEN THE LIGHTS WENT OUT...

Last Wednesday, a storm rolled through Mobile and knocked out the power at Gamers N Geeks.

And for a little while, something pretty great happened.

Everyone just kept playing.

Magic players pulled out their phones and played by flashlight.

Gundam players did the same.

Across the room, Warhammer 40K battles continued in the darkness.

Eventually we had to call it a night, but for a while our community simply made the best of a bad situation.

And looking back at the pictures afterward, we couldn’t help but smile.

We talk a lot about tournaments, games, prizes and everything happening around GnG—but the people around these tables are what make this place special.

Thank you to everyone who laughed with us, adapted with us and kept rolling dice and playing cards while we waited for the lights to come back.

The storm gave us a dark night.

Our community still made it a good one. 💙

🎨 SEPTEMBER MINIATURE PAINTING COMPETITION

New month. New theme.

JD has spoken, and September’s theme is:

🐉 SCALES!

Dragon scales.

Lizard scales.

Scales of balance.

Or whatever wonderfully strange interpretation of “Scales” you can come up with.

JD loves seeing creative interpretations, so don’t be afraid to get weird with it!

You’ve got until the end of September to submit your entry.

🏆 The winner receives a $100 GnG Gift Card, sponsored by our friends at Branded Key Tattoo, located right here inside GnG!

And stay tuned next Tuesday when we reveal our August winner.

We’ve seen some AMAZING entries, and we’re incredibly fortunate to have so many talented miniature painters in our community.

🤖 MASTER MOLD HAS ARRIVED!

Our buddy Ros has seriously upgraded his Marvel: Crisis Protocol battlefield.

Just look at this thing!

Ros 3D printed an incredible scale Master Mold model for his Sentinel army, because apparently those robo boys needed to know exactly who they were fighting for. 😂

Now the Sentinels are protecting Master Mold and preparing to take over New York City...

Where are the X-Men when you need them?!

Ros is just one of the many talented members of the GnG community who puts extra effort into making the tabletop experience better for everyone around them.

Terrain. Painted miniatures. Custom builds. Incredible armies.

That's one of the things we love about miniature gaming.

So the next time you're across the table from Ros...

You may want to keep an eye out for Master Mold. 🤖

And remember: with over 6,000 square feet of FREE play space, you're always welcome to bring your own miniatures, terrain, board games, RPGs, and adventures to GnG.

First up, we would like to welcome a brand-new addition to our GnG community!

And guess what?

MORE HOBBIT. MORE FUN.

What. A. Weekend.

This past weekend, 96 Duelists joined us for our Yu-Gi-Oh! Chaos Origins Regional Qualifier, making it one of the biggest tournaments we've hosted all year. At the same time, our tables were packed with players for the Pokémon Champions VGC Mid-Year Celebration, our very first event for the new game.

Watching nearly every table filled with players is exactly why we do what we do.

At Gamers N Geeks, we believe tabletop gaming should be about MORE.

🎲 MORE tournaments.
🤝 MORE community.
🏆 MORE opportunities to compete.
🎨 MORE hobbies to discover.
💙 MORE reasons to gather around the table.

That's the promise behind everything we do, and this weekend was another reminder that this community continues to grow because of you.

Thank you for making Gamers N Geeks your home for tabletop gaming.
