August Was HUGE. September Isn’t Cooling Off.
What. An. August.
Between Magic, One Piece and Gundam prereleases, our Star Wars Unlimited Planetary Qualifier, Pokémon events, Yu-Gi-Oh! competition, and all of our regular FREE weekly events, the tables at Gamers N Geeks stayed busy all month long.
And once again, our community showed us exactly why we’re proud to call GnG the Gulf Coast’s Favorite Game Store.
Now September is here.
Fall may be on the way, but we aren’t cooling off.
The games are hot, the calendar is packed, and we’ve got another month full of tournaments, championships, prereleases and special events ahead.

💙 WHEN THE LIGHTS WENT OUT...
Last Wednesday, a storm rolled through Mobile and knocked out the power at Gamers N Geeks.
And for a little while, something pretty great happened.
Everyone just kept playing.
Magic players pulled out their phones and played by flashlight.
Gundam players did the same.
Across the room, Warhammer 40K battles continued in the darkness.
Eventually we had to call it a night, but for a while our community simply made the best of a bad situation.
And looking back at the pictures afterward, we couldn’t help but smile.
We talk a lot about tournaments, games, prizes and everything happening around GnG—but the people around these tables are what make this place special.
Thank you to everyone who laughed with us, adapted with us and kept rolling dice and playing cards while we waited for the lights to come back.
The storm gave us a dark night.
Our community still made it a good one. 💙
🎨 SEPTEMBER MINIATURE PAINTING COMPETITION
New month. New theme.
JD has spoken, and September’s theme is:
🐉 SCALES!
Dragon scales.
Lizard scales.
Scales of balance.
Or whatever wonderfully strange interpretation of “Scales” you can come up with.
JD loves seeing creative interpretations, so don’t be afraid to get weird with it!
You’ve got until the end of September to submit your entry.
🏆 The winner receives a $100 GnG Gift Card, sponsored by our friends at Branded Key Tattoo, located right here inside GnG!
And stay tuned next Tuesday when we reveal our August winner.
We’ve seen some AMAZING entries, and we’re incredibly fortunate to have so many talented miniature painters in our community.
🏆 WINNER WEDNESDAY
We had a LOT of winners this past weekend!
From major tournament Top 8 finishers to the champions of our regular FREE weekly events, congratulations to everyone who fought their way to the top tables.

Maybe you finished your best miniature yet.
Maybe you finally beat that opponent you’ve been chasing for weeks.
